The SP last is one of the newest lasts in the Vass workshop. This last fits similar to the U last.

Compared to the U last, the SP last’s has a more pronounced toe box. For a US size 8.5 regular width gentleman, we recommend going with a 41.5 in the SP last. We recommend going up half a size for those with wider feet. There are exceptions to this fitting guide but we find this works most of the time.

Vass' range of excellent quality hand-made shoes commands a world-wide following. László Vass, the founder and leader of our shop and workshop, belongs to a generation of shoemakers who were brave and energetic enough to go back to the roots of their craft and revive a rich, old tradition, giving the art of shoemaking new impetus in a new age.

Vass' main objective is to make ready-to-wear or Made-to-order shoes of different styles, fashion that are the most comfortable, elegant and enduring. In the workshop they use the same kind of tools that shoemakers used many centuries ago, performing hundreds of meticulous operations, with great attention. High quality 1.2~1.5 mm thick leather is cut with sharp knives, perforations and patterns are made with unique precision. The upper part, which is sewn together from several parts, is stretched on the last using wooden pegs and nails and special hammers.
